Embrace the excitement and enthusiasm of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and come out for a fun day. You can trial several of the sports that will be included in the Games. I’ll be setting up a Mini Game On for the little kids. Terrain Training are setting up an obstacle course (rope pull, net crawl, tyre run, balance beam, wall, tyre carry, fake wire crawl, and more), and Shoshana from Aspiral Design will be running the Rainbow tie dye spiral workshop. If that’s not enough… Hot Tomato will be doing a Live Broadcast with their usual fun style.

As an official Nature Play QLD Activity Provider, my goal is to renormalise outdoor play and connect kids to nature through activities and games best suited for 5-10 years. Parents can find a shady spot under a tree or get involved with each stage of the program. This park is now home to its first community-built nature play space, which includes a dry creek bed, timber structures for physical and imaginative play, a tunnels embankment slide and a basketball court.

DIG (Discovery in the Gardens) combines a variety of informative stalls and practical workshops to connect you and your family to the natural world. I am running 2 x 50 minute Natural Adventures around the gardens, delivering a series of nature-based activities and games. Parents are welcome to get involved, or sit back and relax, but they must remain on site.

IndigiScapes will come alive with hands-on, practical activities and sharing of information on all things ‘Bushcare’. There will be a variety of activities to give every member of the family an opportunity to get active in and appreciate nature. There will be a variety of environmental information stalls, conservation groups, live music and even a few native animals.

Presented by EnviroEd, an initiative from Ipswich Enviroplan. EnviroEd consist of free environmental education programs for schools, community groups and families within Ipswich.
I love Queens Park and the Environmental Education Centre in Ipswich. There are so many nooks and crannies to the park, offering opportunities for unique natural connections, and a fast-paced series of activities and games to engage your little ones. We run one adventure from 10am to 12pm and another from 1pm to 3pm.
